2000s Love

There’s a glow in my mind, cold, blue, unblinking, where faces shift faster than I can hold them, and silence is just the hum of scrolling.
You sit somewhere, your fingers tracing a screen, sending words that land without weight, shaped by algorithms, delivered in bubbles that never pop.
There is no jukebox here, only playlists built to match a moodI don’t feel.Songs loop endlessly, but they don’t play for us.
I watch how your face reflects the light, pixelated, paused mid-laugh,and wonderif love should feel this distant—carefully programmed, filtered smooth,a connection just clear enough to miss.
I was born for it,this 2000s kind of love, but sometimes I wonderif it’s why we’re so far apart, why finding youfeels like reaching for a handthat’s always somewhere else.
