Heart's Halt

I would sit at the shore and count the grains of the earth till you returned,Even the waves have formed a more trustworthy companion in your absence.
The tides come and go, a rhythmic dance,A constant embrace with the shore. But my heart remains fixed in a waiting stance,Wishing for yours to come back once more.
The sand whispers secrets of love's ebb and flow,Of reunions that always take place. But my longing lingers, with no place to go,In this solitude, I cannot keep pace.
So I wait and I watch, for the day you appear,Bringing back the light to my eyes.I'll keep counting these grains of the earth,Hoping that someday, our love will arise,And like the waves, we'll find our constant grace
